- Composting at the Vienna Farmers Market
The Town of Vienna/Conservation and Sustainability Commission (CSC) had a wonderful year with composting with the people of Vienna and Oakton! It went so well, that this will be a year round event! Please keep watch at the Vienna Community Center on Saturdays for more details! The booth is operated by Veteran Compost and accepts food waste to be dropped off for composting.
Composting is a natural process by which organic waste is broken down into rich nutrient soil. If you are interested in composting, consider dropping off your food scraps at the Vienna Farmers Market each Saturday through October, and you will be reducing landfill waste while also reducing harmful greenhouse gases from being emitted into the atmosphere.
